My name is Jorge Garcia and I was a private mobile Dj in NYC up to 1998 when I moved to Miami, Florida.

My Bio would go something like: Born in Spanish Harlem, NYC attended La Guardia High School of Music and Art went to the University of NYC Paradise Garage where I got the bug of taking my musical talent and incorporating it with turntables. I was always in awe with the disco Djs’ playing in the block parties. I was a total hustle fan at Ipanema with Pinky Velasquez and The Inferno, Roseland, by now it was not hustle but Bonds with Ken Carpenter, 1018, of course the mother of all thrills NYCPG. I learned bass playing and musical notation but hen I bought my friends equipment and 3 milk crates in 1976 it was full speed ahead with non stop spinning till this day. I did many social mobile Dj’n in NYC from 1980’s till the 1990’s when I moved to Miami. I have always considered my self a bedroom Dj. My highest point in this scene I love so much were the acquaintances I was able to make and these days feel really great having that in my life. Walter Gibbons (when he was working at the music factory on 42nd street), Raul Rodriguez (Disco Dj’), Larry Levan, Todd Terry who I assisted in meeting Vinylmania after his Giggles hit to record Fascination on their label ( I was part of his production crew but didn’t do much with him in the studio except for my present while he was doing the Batmobile-I was on the list from his Kraze Production company as a producer), Ken Carpenter (when he was working at Discorama). I worked at Rock and Soul (which is still there) in Manhattan. My favorite record store was Vinylmania in the village in Manhattan; currently it’s Grooveman Music and Uncle Sams on South Beach, Miami…..to be continued or fixed – just picking my brains memory bank.

Thank you David Liam for this great site to share and learn of this great scene I love ‘House Music Scene’….and Peace, Love and Happibeats to all….

Thank you David for the offer I will it would be a privilege to get you a mix of mine..

p.s. I had a flash of that sweaty excitement at a club called Disco Infermo in the late 70’s early 80’s where the mad record they would play was Disco Inferno..
