Then it’s off to New York for some fun and games and back to London for the next Berwick Street Sessions on Friday 27th February @ Ministry of Sound with Smokin Jo presents TRNSSTR Live, Kenny Hawkes, TIMO MAAS, Oliver Huntemann & Santos. TRNSSTR are Smokin Jo and Pete Gleadhall… Smokin Jo has played in pretty much every major club in the world, spinning her unique fusion of house and minimal, with fizzing slices of modern techno that are a true reflection of what is right about our music scene today – from the dark and dirty dancefloors of Panorama Bar, Berlin, to her residency at ‘We Love…’ Space, Ibiza for over 7 years and not forgetting Fabric, London, Cocoon, Germany and Womb, Tokyo to name a few.

Pete has been producing under various monikers since the early 90’s and now produces and releases music from his ‘Hoedown City’ studio, where his skills have seen him work with the likes of Danny Tenaglia, Clive Henry and Tom Stephan (Superchumbo). Pete brings his production skills and live elements into the mix and makes up this perfect partnership which has been raking in support from the likes of Luciano, Anja Schneider and Freerange boss Jimpster.

Shuffle Scuffle is a belching techno monster with a relentless bassline. Epic slabs of sound are stacked atop glitchy lo-fi drums which result in a listening experience that simply swallows you whole. Its sheer simplicity and subtle nuances creep up on you… loaded with ominous synths resonating throughout which coupled with the funked up bass, transports you to a dark and dirty dancefloor.

Wild Sound is a massive peak time hit with a stomach churning bassline, teasing percussion and thunderous stabs. Techy to the core; this is a musically dense trip that is dynamic enough to keep you hanging until the very last beat.

Berwick Street Records label boss, Timo Garcia says… “I’ve been a massive fan of Smokin Jo as a DJ for many years and her production style really compliments her sets. I’m still trying to work out which track I prefer most out of ‘Wild Sound’ and ‘Shuffle Scuffle’ as they both go down equally well on my dancefloors from Egypt to Siberia! I’m really looking forward to having this release drop on my label and welcoming Pete and Jo to the Berwick Street elite!”
