A little bit about our Special Guest DJ’s:

    Filthy Funk Funk

2006 was a massive year for Filthy Funk Funk. It saw them guest appear at the likes of Ministry of Sound and Turnmills, as well as holding residencies for ‘House Party in Pink’, ‘Houseclash’, ‘Regime’ and the massive ‘Erotique’. It saw them working with promoters like Rhythm at Work, and appearing alongside DJ’s like Marc Hughes, Herd & Fitz, Hoxton Whores, Oliver Lang, Lisa Pin-Up and Amber D.

2007 has been everything it promised. With massive bookings in the diary like Eden in Ibiza and Abstract at The Egg, as well as excursions out to Prague, and playing alongside the likes of Judge Jules and Tim Sheridan, their reputation goes from strength to strength and the bookings continue to come flying in.

Their key component is an almost-telepathic understanding of each other, which allows all three to contribute on the decks at the same time- via acapellas, loops, effects and some trade secrets 😉 all utilised to produce a quite unique sound to satisfy any lover of house musics’ palett.

    Great news…
We are now the Official Pre-Party for The Club Azuli Ibiza Launch…

Located only a short walk away from the Cross, Stretch First is the perfect Pre-Party venue…

Also featuring the Outdoor Terrace with BBQ from 7pm

    ——-

Club Azuli @ The Cross – Sat June 16th

With their new Friday night residency at the world famous Space club secured, Club Azuli continue their popular bi-monthly night at The Cross, with another corking line up.

They welcome back two Azuli favourites; Kurd Maverick and Ben Macklin who are set to command the main room with their blend of funky and electro house. Currently two of the hottest producers out there, these guys know what works on the dancefloor.

Last time the ‘Maverick’ appeared back in October people looked on in astonishment while he tore up the CDJs, make sure you’re there to see it for yourself. Not to be missed!

In the lounge, there’s something a little different as The Crazy P Soundsystem take to the booth. The band who have dominated festivals over the past few years, as well as touring with Faithless and guesting on Pete Tong’s Radio 1 show, will be bringing there funky flavours for this special appearance. With two DJs and a vocalist, this is a perfect way to get the party going (as if they’ll need to by then).

Playing alongside them will be Push FM’s Tony English (always a favourite with the Club Azuli crowd), Underground Sound DJs and Rap Saunders.

On to the 3rd Arch and the Togetherness boys are back with their uplifting, party house supplied by residents Rob Marmot and DJ Marble and guests.

…and as a special guest for the night, we are excited to bring Matty Zee – Live on Sax to Canal 125. If you haven’t seen him in action, you should head down, as he is mind blowing. He locks onto the key of any track playing with-in seconds and then improvisers over the top. He has a “walk-the-bar” microphone which gives him access to the whole venue so he can get on down with the crowd. Great to watch, and amazing to hear….

He is resident at Mint Leaf in London on Friday nights and has played many of the big venues in London including Turnmills, Pacha, and the EGG as well as playing at the TDK Cross Central Festival…

…and I have included a cheesy pic of him too 🙂

hope to see you down there.

We are very excited to announce the headliner for our second fantastic Stretch First Party…

DJ RACHEL BARTON (Radio 1 Annie Mac Show)

Just back from Miami and the Winter Music Conference, and with a bag full of new hot promos, Rachel is keen to get everyone warmed up…
From touring with the Annie Mac Show Live, and playing at festivals (Lovebox) and clubs (Fabric) the intimate environment of Canal 125 is in danger of becoming a big, sweaty, heaving pit. But that is just they way we like it.

    We can’t wait.

If you are thinking of going clubbing on the 14th April… Make sure you Stretch First

DJ Rachel Barton in the mix….
