LS City Records return with another solid slice of club tech, this time

from Benny Royal. Dutchman Benny is usually at home producing

for labels such as Toolroom Records, Ministry of Sound, Stealth

Records, Nervous records and many other top imprints, but his next

release sees him working with LS City Records.

Immediately kicking off with some piston whooshes and circling tech

kicks, ‘If You Look Ace’ is a peak time slice of tech house with subtly

percolating digital atmospheres swirling round in the back ground, all

adding tension until the track peaks. It then kicks off hard once

more at just past the midpoint, and doesn’t let up until it has dragged

you into its world, got you shaking your hips and moving your feet

    like a loon.

Label head Jamie Fisher is on remix duty and pairs things down to a

more confined, rolling jam. There’s plenty of kinetic energy and

percussion bounding about in the mid ground of the track; white

noise crescendos add intensity and overall make for a slightly more

unhinged and wilder take on the original track – it’s sure to get heads

and hands shaking as much as hips and feet shifting.

LSCR006 is another solid statement from this fledgling Leeds label:

few imprints are making tech house as reliably good and floor slaying

    as this at the moment.
