    Hey guys,

i’m new to all this so excuse any trivial questions,

i bought an electro/house sessions cd and parts of it are amazing, particularly the melody lines of booka shade and the drill,

was wandering if anyone could tell me what equipment they use and what i could use to get started?

    thanks,

    inb

i’m a little confused as to what exactly you want to do.

    Checklist before producing music:

_ Computer (with good hardware of course)
_ Digital Audio Workstation (Reason, Live, FL Studio, Sonar, Pro-Tools, Cubase)
_ Ideas (What are you going to make thats going to stand out?)
_ Music knowledge (You can’t make something you don’t understand)

After that checklist is all filled out, you can start.

Start with drums. It’ll set the tone for the rest of the track. It seems you have a melody line in mind already, so throw that one in on top, then add in a bassline to fit it.

I’m making it sound really easy, but that’s really all there is too it. Add some variations throughout the track and you’re golden.

Then mix it down, master it with effects and EQ, and bounce it to disk.

    Any questions?
